Monkey Bars
Thu 26 – Fri 27 May 2016
Theatre Royal Winchester
Monkey Bars is an award-winning verbatim show developed out of conversations with over 40 children aged between 7-10, conducted by Karl James (Director of the Dialogue project).
These conversations focus on moments in the children’s lives where they were scared, lost or brave and they explore their opinions of the adult world that surrounds and awaits them.
Writer/director Chris Goode and an ensemble of 6 actors worked with the full transcripts to transpose their exchanges into a variety of adult situations. This gives adult audiences a remarkable insight into what children are trying to tell us about their lives but the question is do we know how to listen?
